Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

VODJet is a downloadable software application developed and owned by Legrowtech. VODJet (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a local desktop application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

1. What We Collect

VODJet processes video files entirely on your local machine. We do not collect, transmit, or store any video content whatsoever. The only data associated with your use of VODJet is:

  • License key and email address — provided by you at activation, transmitted to Polar to validate your purchase.
  • Activation status — whether your license is active, and the number of activated devices.
  • Machine identifier (fingerprint)— a one-way hash of your PC’s stable hardware ID (see section 4 for details). This is transmitted to Polar as your device’s activation label during license activation, validation, and deactivation.

No video files, thumbnails, transcripts, or any personally created content ever leave your device.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • License validation — your key, email, and machine fingerprint are sent to the Polar API to confirm your purchase and verify your activation.
  • Support — if you contact us at support@vodjet.com, we use your email to respond.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Processors

  • Polar — handles all payment processing and license key management. Polar acts as the Merchant of Record for VODJet purchases, meaning Polar legally collects payment, handles tax compliance, and issues your receipt. When you purchase VODJet or activate your license, your payment details and license key are processed by Polar. See their Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase — this marketing website (vodjet.com) is hosted on Firebase App Hosting. Firebase may collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) as part of hosting operations. No Firebase services are used inside the desktop application.

4. Data Storage & Machine Identifier

Your license key and activation status are stored locally on your device in the OS keychain (Windows Credential Manager), managed by the Tauri plugin-store. We do not maintain a server-side database of user accounts or personal information beyond what Polar holds for your purchase record.

Machine identifier (fingerprint). To enforce the single-seat license limit, VODJet reads a stable hardware identifier from your operating system at activation time:

  • Windows — the MachineGuid registry value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography, written by Windows Setup at OS installation time.
  • Linux — the /etc/machine-id file, generated by systemd at OS installation time.

This raw identifier is never transmitted. VODJet applies a SHA-256 one-way hash and sends only the first 16 hexadecimal characters of the result to Polar as your device’s activation label. The hash cannot be reversed to recover your original hardware ID. The fingerprint is stored locally in the OS keychain alongside your license key.

If you deactivate your license via Settings → License → Deactivate, your activation slot is freed in Polar’s system, allowing you to activate VODJet on a different machine.

5. Your Rights

You may request deletion of any personal data associated with your license by emailing us at support@vodjet.com. Deleting your data will deactivate your license.
